Askegaard Organic Golden Flax

This past July, we learned that one of Craig's cousins by marriage is an organic farmer in Minnesota.  Mark grows several crops including gold flax, which we were fortunate enough to sample, as it's not available locally yet.

Mark explained how difficult it was to maintain a totally organic farming practice and that other farmers used some fairly unsavory methods on their crops to "hold" them in stasis until a more convenient time to harvest.  An organic farmer has to work much harder at pest control and harvest time.
