Lunch at Zamaan Cafe and a Milk Run

Zamaan Cafe at 3580 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor
Craig and I had lunch today at Zamaan Cafe, located near Busch's at the corner of Plymouth and Green.  As it turns out, I"m not much of a food blogger - I dug the camera out of my purse and set in on the table in anticipation of food arrival. When the food came, I pounced on the plates and then remembered.  Duh!

As you can see, we made short work of the Combo for Two - tawook, kufta, falafels, grape leaves, hummus, pita, and salad.  It was delicious.  This was our first visit and we wanted to try a bit of everything.  Next time, I'm going to concentrate on hummus, my true love.  This hummus was incredibly smooth but thicker than what I usually see served at a restaurant.  I also ordered the Sage & Mint Tea, a really refreshing combination of herbs infused into a tea.  With tax and tip, the lunch meal for two came to $35.

Next time, I think I'll try the Makale - hummus topped with fried potatoes, eggplant, tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, and lemon juie.

After nearly finishing the entire meal (not much left for a take-out box), we staggered around the corner for some odds and ends at Busch's.  We brought home 4 gallons of milk, 1 gallon of ice-cream, 1 dark chocolate bar, 1 bunch of kale and one bunch of bananas.  That should hold us until the weekend!

Between the 2 of us, we carried home about 40 pounds.
