Walk to School Day - and calendar coordination

MARK YOUR CALENDAR - International Walk to School Day is Wednesday October 6.

Yesterday, when I posted, International Car Free Day here http://carfreeinannarbor.blogspot.com/2010/09/mark-your-calendar-world-carfree-day.html I had "assumed" that Walk to School Day would be on the same day.  Obviously, the conscious-raising events are not coordinated.  I find this curious - how about  you?
