| Dole Frozen Sliced Strawberries |
We purchased (amongst other things) a 5 pound sack of frozen strawberries. Last night Craig noticed the empty bag in the trash and was surprised how fast we went through the bag. I've been adding big handfuls of the berries into our smoothies along with other ingredients like fresh peaches and/or fresh baby spinach and/or bananas, all served along side dinner.
I gave it some thought this morning....
The bag of frozen fruit containes 80 ounces (5 pounds) of prepared sliced strawberries (no added anything). We finished the bag in 6 meals - which means about 30 servings (5 peopleX6 meals). We paid $8.28 for the bag or $1.65 per pound or $0.27 per serving.
The Vitamix 5200 makes short work of smoothie prep and the kids really appreciate the "no lump" smoothies.
